About the Author:
W. Joan Grant has been actively breeding Finnish
Spitz since 1978. She was instrumental in the introduction
of the Finnish Spitz breed to Canada and is proud
that the Canadian Finnish Spitz is known worldwide
for their health and quality of conformation. Throughout
her thirty years of breeding, ensuring that the Finnish
Spitz remain identifiable as hunters, as they are
in Finland, has been one of her highest priorities. |

Joan was born and raised in Jasper,
heart of the Rocky Mountains. Mother of five, grandmother
of thirteen and great-grandmother of three, she displays
a certain amount of stamina and determination that
few can rival. There is no doubt that her keen mind
and principled integrity are imprinted on the genes
of the Canadian Finnish Spitz. Today, if you visit
Jayenn Kennels, you may just find her astride one of
her beloved Morgan horses beneath that broad-shouldered
mountain in Golden, British Columbia. |
